I'm trying to find out what happened to the third wife of my 8xg grandfather, Thomas Cooper who died at Arlesey Beds in Nov 1728. His widow Frances leaves no trace in Beds, but there's a member submission on the IGI (large pinches of salt) for a marriage at Hitchin, 5 miles along the road, on 12 Oct 1733 between Francis Gilby and Frances Cooper.
If anyone has access to Hitchin parish register I'd be very grateful for a look up to see if there is any further detail, if indeed the marriage isn't a figment of an LDS member's imagination.
Many thanks in advance

Thank you very much Peter - it's much appreciated even though I haven't a clue if she's "my" Francis Cooper or not! I was hoping she might be of the parish of Arlesey, but that would have made it too easy.
I'll try to see if there is any trace of them in Walkern - I've just noticed there had two children baptised in Hitchin, which makes me doubt that she is mine
Thanks again
