Just on the off chance that some one has these resources I would be grateful for assistance in finding proper dates for the following children of Roger Oakden and Charlotte Harrison. (these two were married 1825 St Martin's, Worcester)
Emma Harrison Oakden abt 1827
Edwin Smith Oakden abt 1828
Martin Oakden abt 1830
Edith Oakden abt 1832
Fanny Selina Oakden abt 1835
Mary ann Oakden abt 1838 (Kidderminster vol 18 pg 368)
All children stated as being born in Stourbridge, Worcestershire
I have all census details I would just like christenings if possible.

One of my first port of calls mrs woman but thanks for your interest. I have trawled the net to find out anything to no avail and as Worcester is a new county of research to me I was hoping some kind soul might have resources unbeknown to me and could help.

Angela you can buy the fiche for St Martin's £4.25 from www.bmsgh.org or write to Worcester Record Office they will send you copies of the baptism's for a fee. good luck from mrswoman.

Hi Angela,
I checked the parish records for Old Swinford, the most likely parish that anyone born in Stourbridge to be baptised in and there were no entries for any of the Oakden children.

oh wow thanks laws thats extremely good of you. Thanks for taking the time and trouble.
I think Stourbridge is now in correct and I feel so stupid. It should be Stourport which would make more sense as Charlotte Harrison was born in Upper Mitton so they obviously settled not to far from where she was born.
Stourbridge is actually in Dudley is it not. So sorry for misleading you all as you've been all so helpful. I knew nothing of Worcester geography and when I mentioned it to someone who I THOUGHT knew the area they said birth place would be Stourbridge and that the census enumerator had got it wrong!!!! I did my own research on a map and there is a place called Stourport and like I said its a stones throw from Mitton.
So sorry you had a wasted rummage through the parish records i'm humbly appologetic but do appreciate your time on my behalf.

Stourport is in the parish of Kidderminster. I'll check next time I go to the Worcester Record Office, but it'll probably not be for a couple of weeks.

Hi Angela,
Popped into the Worcester Record Office today.
All the baptisms were for the Chapelry of Mitton (is that the same as a parish ? I don't know)
On all of them the parents were Roger and Charlotte Oakden, living in Stourport, profession Accountant.
Emma Harrison 19 October 1826
Edwin Smith 16 March 1828
Martin 21 March 1830
Edith 12 August 1832
John 9 February 1834
Fanny Selina 17 January 1836
The register only went up to 1837 so no Mary Ann.
