FANTASTIC, this does seem to be my family, especially as the relative is W G Garner,I assume he is my William George. Walter was born 1872 he does not appear to have married as far as I can find out.
What a shame, I lived in Seven Kings in 1964, right next door to Goodmayes, well a few yards down the road.

I wonder if he went with a  family?, I will have to check departures to the other countries.

HUGE THANK YOU

Daisy
Would you know if he travelled alone or with his family please

I think I might have found his father's death, Rochford 1934 aged 85, my Garners were all long livers but I must not sit upon my laurels as they say

Thank you

Hi Louisa Maud,

It looks like Walter is on his ownin 1923, no other GARNER with him.

I found this which could be Walter Undecided

Date of departure:  6 December 1893
Port of departure:  London
Destination port:  New Zealand
Destination country:   New Zealand
Ship:  RUAHINE

Mr Walter GARNER
21
Male
Single
Clerk

If it is him it explains why he can't be found in 1901 Smiley

I hope you don't mind but I am linking this to your new post about Walter Parkinson GARNER in case the findings overlap Smiley

Hi Everybody
With regards to the Garner family I have a Sarah Garner married to a Michael Ettridge St Leonard's Shoreditch 22nd march 1818.
I believe she was born in Chingford Essex abt 1798. just wondered if anyone has any info on her as she is one of my ancestors in my Ettridge tree. would love to know who her family was.
Regards

Hi Geoff
My Garners originated from Chelmsford and then to Marylebone,  London by 1841, I cannot connect to Chingford or the surname of Eldridge.

Perhaps someone reading this email will contact you with a connection

Happy hunting

regards

Hi Louisa Maud
Thanks for that hope someone else can come up with something for me, and by the way the Name she married was an Ettridge not and Eldridge, but I do understand there are so many spellings of the name it's hard to keep up with them all Lol.
