gone to America look up please

Hi
I am trying to find information on Abraham Pennington born abt 1828 Huddersfield. He married Jane Rhodes in 1852. I know they went to America, but when? could someone please look this up for me. there was children born from abt 1861 onwards in America

Well, here is the 1870 US census which indicates that the Penningtons were in the US by 1853. So they must have gone right after they got married.

Providence, Rhode Island
Abram Pennington 40 Stone Cutter England
Jane 40 England
Joseph 17 Stone Cutter Apprentice New York
Harriet E 13 Worker in a Woolen Mill Connecticut
Ralph R. 12 Rhode Island
William J. 9 Rhode Island
Abram F. 7 Rhode Island
Walter S. 4 Rhode Island
Martha 2months Rhode Island

North Providence District
Roll M593-1476 Page 342 Image 60.

I found the following entry on the New York Passenger Lists.
August 27 1852 Liverpool to New York SS George Green
Evan Pennington 24 Mason from England
Mrs.Pennington 23 from England.

I wonder if the Ewan is an error and should be Abram?....it seems like quite a coincidence.....especially as he is a Mason and the ages are correct.

Birth records from Rhode Island show the following:

Ralph R. Pennington
Parents:  Abraham & Jane Pennington 
Birth Date: 04 Oct 1858

William Pennington
Parents:  Abraham & Jane Pennington
Birth Date: 18 Nov 1860

Pawtucket, RI directories from 1890-1892 show Abraham Pennington living at 8 Grotto Avenue in the rear.  Occupation was "furniture, etc."

Also, these, who may be children of the younger Abraham:

Louise Pennington
Parents: Abraham & Lucy Pennington 
Birth Date: 12 Aug 1891

Walter Pennington
Parents: Abraham & Lucy Pennington 
Birth Date: 28 Nov 1893


There is a Rhode Island marriage record for Abraham F. Pennington and Lucy Hughes on 01 Jan 1889.


If you sign up here:  http://labs.familysearch.org/, you should be able to see the 1880 and 1900 Census records for free.  The 1900 Census indicates that Abraham immigrated in 1850 and was naturalized.
