You could try the birth indexes at ancestry or Free BMD - you could enter the surname Pepper (leave first name blank) plus Eliza's maiden name and the county Leicestershire. Narrow the search from the date of marriage - usually couples produced a child within 5 years. It may mean taking a chance, but particularly if Eliza had an unusual surname, it will probably work.

I've discovered a lot of relatives that way.

Good luck

Yes, thats the easiest way w/o looking in archives for Rates, Voters lists etc ...

Be aware tho that Mothers Maidename wasnt indexed until later on in 1911/12 .... the gap twixt the 1901 census and this indexing improvemnet is a big barrier - altho with a name like Pepper you may be luckier ?

If you find a birth in the index that is a possibility (not long after the marriage, family name - often names of grandparents etc) it's always worth writing to the local register office (Leicester is quite helpful, I've found) and ask for the certificate if the parents are  . . . and  . . . .

Also, death certificates sometimes have a child as informant.

It must be wonderful to come from a wealthy family where people leave wills that name every child and grandchild still living!

Hi again

Newfster was right the mother's maiden name wasn't given in the indexes till 1911, but if you post Eliza Ann's maiden name here someone will look it up for you - or FreeBMD have the same search options for free!

It would be quite likely that the couple would still be having babies in 1911, so you may very well be lucky.
