My Interest in Somerset is in the following Names VENN,WEBBORN and MATHEWS as per the list below.
Descendants of William Venn

1. WILLIAM VENN was born circa 1770 in Somerset, England, and died 21st of Jan 1870 in Tynewydd, Llangenior, Glamorgan, Wales. (buried 24th of Jan 1870 in St Cein's Church, Llangenior, Glamorgan, Wales) He married (1) BETTY WEBBORN (Wybourne) on the 17th of Dec 1808 in Cutcombe, Somerset, England. After Betty VENN) nee WEBBORN's death in Cutcombe in Oct 1823 he married (2) MARY MATHEWS in 1824 at Cutcombe Somerset, England.

Sometime after Mary VENN nee MATHEWS death about between the 1861 and 1871 Census he shifted to Glamorgan in Wales were all the children from his second Marriage to Mary now lived.
I have been unable to find any information on what happened to the children of William and Betty other than James and John who along with their half brother Mathew were transported to VDL (Tasmania). James in 1835, John in 1836 and their half brother Mathew in 1847.
I have checked the Census Records but nothing as yet seems to pin point them.
James Venn is my GGGrandfather
I would welcome contact with anyone researching any of the above mentioned people.

I can see this couple in 1851 Robert gives Winsford as birth place. Would you like full details.

there are no more ven baptisms for anyone with the name venn up till 1848

Thank you to all that replied to my message. I should have included their baptism details to save people checking that for me.
In regard to the Marriage of Robert Venn to Ann Ridler, I had purchased their wedding certificate which shows that his father was a Robert Venn. They also had a son and called him Robert.
With regard to the Children of William Venn and Betty Webborn whilst there are several with their given names marrying in the Cutcombe district, but none show up in censuses showing born in Cutcombe.
What happened to them is definitely a mystery.
