Looking for the RAY's as seen below (or others) in 1851 please..........in 1841 they are the only Ray's in Little Stanmore, their are none in Great Stanmore........in 1861 their are none in Little or Great Stanmore
Reason..........I am looking for likely candidates for the father or single mother of William Ray who stated on various census that he was born Stanmore, Middx approx 1855

well, so far as I can see the only Ray family in any part of Stanmore in 1851 is Isaac, his wife Mary and son John aged 9. They are living in Marsh Lane Lodge, Little Stanmore

Try looking in Edgware. The boundary between Little Stanmore and Edgware parishes runs right down the middle of the main road (ie Edgware Road, Watling Street and about a million other names between London and Chester) exactly where the most 'built up' area of both parishes was. It's useful to know this for baptisms, too, because Edgware parish church is right on the main road, and most people who lived in Little Stanmore were closer to that one than to their own parish church.
