Regarding divorces, unfortunately, the list on Findmypast only starts at 1858 so if she divorced William Nightingale I can't find it.  If he was a farmer's son and she only a dressmaker, perhaps the family didn't approve and they paid for a divorce.  Maybe she thought she was pregnant when she married, or maybe she was and the baby died or something.
