My grandfather, who I didnt know was mentioned on my fathers birth certificate as being at another address,north ormesby rd middlesboro. I cant find him on any census, I presume he was a yorkshireman although my father was born in eastbourne. His occupation was furnace weighman(ironmaster). He is thomas edward simpson, my father was born may 1922. Any help, info please

Do you mean your grandfather is Thomas Edward Simpson?

Have you got access to the 1901 census? If so theres a Thomas E Simpson aged 2 in Middlesborough with parents John J/T? and Mary RG13/4577 Folio 43 Page 30 (John is an Ironworks Labourer)

(there are 2 birth registrations in Middlesborough district for a Thomas Edward Simpson, one in 1898 and one in 1904)
