I have seen some evidence of people researching Andersons of Tanfield and Nicholsons of Bilquay in Gatesgead on other sites and tried to make contact. However the postings were quite old so it may be that the mail address to which they were linked is out of date. Perhaps by posting here I'll find somebody.
There were numerous Tanfield Andersons so if you are researching this, there is a high chance of our trees being linked. Likewise for Billquay Nicholsons - my g grandfather, Michael Nicholson was caught up in the Great Fire of Gateshead and is recorded as being treated at the infirmary.

That might be Ann, daughter of Robert who was baptised in 1779. I haven't done much on the female Andersons but Robert was the son of another Robert who was the son of Matthew. Matthew must have been born around 1700 and if he is related to my Andersons, would have been a brother or cousin to George Anderson.
