Can any one tell me if the records for the Stafford Assize are on line if not how can i access them I am looking for John Blag/Blagg /Bleg/gg tried at Stafford around 1839 sentenced to ? years Australia I know he was tried at Stafford I am also looking for any family he was born about 1816 (by age at death in Tasmania) I think he would have been married just by his age. any help would be great thank you bleggy
Staffordshire, England — Magisterial records, Staffordshire assizes and calendars of prisoners, 1777–1845. 4 vols. Printed with manuscript annotations. Includes name, age, when and by whom committed, crime and sentence. (1329 fr.) [CY 1085: Z ML MSS 977] (I think it's a bit pricey to buy for one lookup - around 220 dollers (AUS).)

Lastly, have you checked any Ships passenger lists - If its a convict ship then that may be easy to check especially if you know names, dates and embarkation points.
