Can anyone help find Rebecca Metcalfe in the 1891 and 1901 census please. this is her in 1881.
1881 census—134 Barnsbury Road, Islington
Rebecca Metcalfe, head , widow, 46, charwoman, b. Overton,
Eleanor, dau, unm, 23, domestic servant, b. Middlesex
Sophia, dau, unm, 20, artificial florist, b. Middlesex
Ada, dau, unm, 16, valentine maker, b. Peterboro
Cuthbert, son, 13, errand boy, b. Middlesex

Hi
In 1891 Cuthbert has left the nest as is boarding in Florence St, Islington South.
Listed as single, 23 and surgical instrument maker.
By 1901 he has married Sarah and has a son, also Cuthbert.
There is a death of Rebecca Metcalfe in Islington – born c1834 died 1906
I can’t find the daughters, so presume they have married – ergo Rebecca could easily be with one of them and mistranscribed under their married name.

I can't find her with any of the children in 1891 or 1901. Ada is her only child and she is listed as the step mother of the others, she was their father's housekeeper and when he died she assumed the name. Her married name (before she assumed the name of Metcalfe in 1881) was Scarborough. I can't find her with Ada, married name Birtles.
Will keep looking, thanks
