Sarah Ann Pearce

My great great great grandmother Sarah Ann Pearce was born c1827 in Gloucestershire. She married Richard Ricketts of Westbury-On-Severn sometime around the early 1850s. A distant cousin once told me that her mother was a Hannah Pearce. I don't know anything else about her, so any helop will be greatly appreciated. The following is part of the email the distant cousin sent to me a few years ago -

Sarah Ann Pearce is much more of a mystery. She appears in each census from 1851 to 1881 with her husband Richard, is consistent with her age (23,33,42,53), but cannot make up her mind where she was born (respectively, Westbury, Slimbridge, Cambridge, and Shipton Moyne).
 
We found parish register entries as follows,

    * In Slymbridge/Cambridge - Sarah Ann, bt. 20.7.1828, illegitimate, daughter of Hannah Pearce, single woman
    * In Bisley - Hannah, bt. 22.7.1804, daughter of William Pearce

We speculate 1) that our Sarah Ann is the one cited above, and 2) that the two Hannah's are one and the same. In those circumstances, it would not be unrealistic for Sarah Ann to have cited her grandfather as her father on her marriage certificate.

At http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl you can find details of her marriage registration in the June qtr of 1848.

Go to http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ to find out how to buy certs on line. 
At
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle  you will find many Rickets' baptisms and marriages(?).  The m-cert may tell you where Sarah lived before marriage.
