« on: Wednesday 05 January 05 16:27 GMT (UK) »

This person MAY be related. The info I have is that she was born July-Sept 1866,  district of Chapel le F, which I understand ( maybe wrongly ) is in Derbyshire. Her name is Jessie Marion Allen, and I am trying to find information on the family. Any help would be much appreciated........many thanks....Lyn

Hi Exessexgirl,
This looks like your young lady and her family in 1871. It does say Maria rather than Marian but I wouldn't worry about that. No other matches.  Regards jan Wink

Hello Jan. Thank you very much for the information you kindly sent me. It looks as though I was barking up the wrong tree with this one. From the info I have on a copy of a marriage certificate of 1889, Jessie Marion Allen's father was Robert Francis Allen, and it doesn't correspond with the details you have sent me. Thank's though Jan for looking....regards..... Lyn

Hello Exessexgirl

Do you have the family in any census yet while she was still Allen?

What did her father do for a job?

Who witnessed the marriage-often they are older brothers and sisters of the bride or groom.

Chapel en le Frith is in Derbyshire by the way.

Carol

Hi Exessexgirl,
Searched Jes* Alll* in 1871, noone else of right age born Derbyshire anywhere in England.  Also no  Jessie of right age in 1881 other than the family I found in 1871. Very strange. Could her mother have remarried another Allen perhaps?  Huh Jan

Hi Jan. thank's for the reply. I may be barking up the wrong tree here. The family I am looking for is ROBERT FRANCIS ALLEN. I have been given details of a marriage of Robert Allen to a Hannah Mott, in Norwich. The marriage took place in Welney Norwich, 1862. the daughter Jessie was born in 1866, so they may be the ones. I have had no details on the wife up until now....Lyn
