Hi Pukeen
You look to have the census info for Charles and his family between 1881 - 1901. Are you looking for a Scottish marriage for Charles before he left for Ireland?
There are 4 entries showing between 1905-09 for the marriage of a Charles Harkin(s).
Regards.
Monica

I'll include here the search results for marriages just in case anything comes up for you on further searches:
1 1905 HARKIN CHARLES KERR FRANCES FALKIRK /STIRLING 479/00 0153 2 1907 HARKINS CHARLES MULHERON SUSAN ST PETER DUNDEE CITY/ANGUS 282/01 0176 3 1908 HARKIN CHARLES MORRAN BETSY GOVAN GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 646/02 0232 4 1909 HARKINS CHARLES GALLACHER AGNES CAMLACHIE GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/02 0022 If you know the name of his children, do you know if they were born in Ireland or Scotland. You could search the birth index on Scotlands People to see if that throws anything up. Assuming first born son called Charles, there are 8 births for Charles Harkin (s), including this is one (not thinking necessarily your Charles, but probably related given the family's location):
1902 HARKINS CHARLES M BATHGATE /WEST LOTHIAN 662/01 0054
Regards.
