Percy William Harry--Look Up Please
« on: Friday 18 January 08 18:43 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to track down Percy William Harry ,born 3rd Qtr 1891 Swaffham Norfolk. He was the son of Samuel Harry born St Austell Cornwall and Sarah Ida Bleathman.Percy's father became a Methodist minister and travelled around including Chertsey Surrey where Samuel married 1890.
Percy was a musician and may have sung in the choir at Westminster Abbey.
He married Florence Sabina Quinion 10 Aug 1916 at Hounslow. This marriage may have failed and I am uncertain if there are any children.
Percy also travelled a lot including Africa,Iran and Iraq.He also spent time in the West Indies (perhaps St Barths and St Kitts.
He is known to be back in England early 1930s but what became of him is unknown.
I will greatly appreciate any information which can be provided. This is a missing link to my Harry family in Cornwall.

Hi Rex

I have searched the national archives for anything on Percy W Harry ...nothing pops out at all . I even looked under his wife's name hoping for a divorce doc...also nothing .  I will keep looking around though.

Ambly please
Was the name of the ship given?
I am hoping to track down a passenger list or other clues such as occupation.
Perhaps it was a banana boat.

Hi Lazarus

Or maybe he was taking a sunshine cruise  Grin

Unfortunately that's all I know - I searched the database on that site (free to search once you are registered user  - also free to register) but the results are just as I've given; the rest of the details are pay-per-view - probably an image of the manifest.  II've  never used the site beyond free search, but I think from memory the payment is quite reasonable for a single item  -   not sure what the mimimum amount of credits you would have to purchase first, though. Lots of Chatters  do use the site.

Another idea: the Family Relatives site:
http://www.familyrelatives.com/

This site can be a bit unwiledy to use at times - much improved since a recent upgrade - but sometimes takes a bit of 'figuring out"! .......... But, once you've registered (free), you can access a large number of databases - some are free, most are pay. But among the free, are  records - actual images - in the Overseas Collection, including Births, deaths and Marriages registered for Army, High Commissions, Marine....etc. Maybe you might be lucky enought to find something there .

Best luck!
