If Margaret was born about 1801, then it physically impossible for her to still be having children after 1863 - she would have been too old. I have come up with this family, 1861 CSSCT1861_43 ED12 page 9 line 2 household schedule 61 Dundee Turnpike Road East, Kirriemuir, Angus James Whyte head 79 Wright (journeyman) Glamis, Forfarshire Margaret “ wife 68 dressmaker Murroes, Forfarshire Margaret “ daur 46 dressmaker Glamis, Forfarshire Betty Watt daur 44 dressmaker Glamis, Forfarshire Mary Watt grand daur 17 dressmaker Kirriemuir, Forfarshire
1851 CSSCT1851_66 ED21 page 4 line 13 household schedule 22 Newtown, Kirriemuir, Angus James Whyte head 69 carpenter employing 1 man Glamis, Forfarshire Margaret “ wife 58 dressmaker Mains, Forfarshire Margaret “ daur 36 dressmaker Glamis, Forfarshire Betty Watt daur 34 dressmaker Glamis, Forfarshire David Whyte son 30 Draper Glamis, Forfarshire James “ son 25 sawyer Kirriemuir, Forfarshire Mary Watt grand daur 10 Kirriemuir, Forfarshire William Watt grand son 7 Kirriemuir, Forfarshire
There’s a marriage on IGI for Betty Whyte and Thomas Watt 03 October 1840, Kirriemuir
1841 ED26 parish number 299 South Muir, Kirriemuir James White 50 Wright journeyman Angus, Scotland Mrs White 45 Angus, Scotland David White 20 linen HLW Angus, Scotland James White 15 linen HLW Angus, Scotland Elspet Henderson 25 linen HLW Angus, Scotland same page: Thomas Watt 25 linen HLW Angus, Scotland Bettey Watt 25 Angus, Scotland Marey Watt 6 months Angus, Scotland hope this helps

lnr, I have details of the same James Whyte (my GGG grandfather) and am now seeking more details about his parents (Alexander Whyte and Elizabeth McKenzie). Do you have JWs death details? If not, let me know and I'll give you the info. fionam1
