Hi Poppyann

I noticed this hadn't been answered and did a search on familyhistoryonline but no success.

You could try contacting the Sussex Family History Group who will do baptism lookups for you at
http://www.sfhg.org.uk/baptisms.html

Best wishes

Hi
How do you know she was born in Frant?   Did she survive to the 1851 census?   The fact that she married there only means that was where she was living at the time.   She could have been born anywhere.   The naming pattern of her children might help.   Are there any named after Thomas' parents?
If you can give us as much information as you have that will help.

Hi sillgen, the info I have is that 1841 census Lucy was born 1811 in Frant. She was living with Natahniel Jacob - her father in law. No sign of Thomas and no sign of Lucy 1851 census. Children both born in Frant, Elizabeth 1828 and Edward 1832. poppyann

the 1841 census would just say if born in the county or not, so you mean she wasborn in Sussex?

added, also if she was born in 1811 in the 1841 census where did you get the 1802 birth year from?

the ages were rounded down in 1841 so she could be born 1807-1811

Thinking about Toni's comment about 1807-1811 have you considered the Lucy Taylor on the IGI

baptised 2 March 1808 at Rotherfield (not far from Frant) to John and Ann Taylor?

I have been looking for Lucy for some time now and I can't remember where I got 1802 from. I think the Lucy you found is likely to be right. I looked on sussexweald.org site it has Lucys mother as Hannah but the dates tally. I must try and get to Lewes to do a check. Many thanks who have helped me. Poppyann

This doesn't help much but I checked out John Taylor marriages on the Sussex Marriage Index and there are two (wouldn't you just know it!) in 1805

John Taylor and Ann Vail 9 Feb 1805 at Rotherfield, both of this parish by banns
John Taylor and Ann Wallis 15 July 1805 at Rotherfield, both of this parish by banns
