Would be grateful for a look up on 1871 census for

John JENKINS      aged  47     born Eardisley, Herefordshire
Elizabeth                       58             Clifford
William                          17
John J                            14
James                            12
Thomas                          7

Any help much appreciated.   Likely living in Clifford

I have found John Jenkins living at Church Cottage, Clifford in 1871.

Thanks for that.   Had details from 1881 - no Charles then but an older brother William at home then!   Also trying to establish Thomas' true age as it varies with each census and there are 2 born same registration district within 2 years.

Hi Wilma,
It looks as if John Jenkin's age varies too. (See my reply to 1851 request). There seem to be a number of John Jenkins in Herefordshire of similar ages so take care!

In 1891 I see there is a John Jenkins, born Eardisley aged 68 living in Clifford, and also William and John aged 36 and 24 born Clifford.

A John Jenkins married Elizabeth Hill in CLifford in 1852.

Sure it is him.   Thanks.   His wife was Elizabeth and she was born Clifford.   Trying to find them on 1861 census.

Get his marriage certificate from Hereford Register Office and this will confirm his fathers name for you.
