Rookwood Cemetery Transcriptions
« on: Friday 25 February 05 00:00 GMT (UK) »

Rookwood Cemetery is located in the west of Sydney, Australia and opened in 1867 and is now the largest working cemetery in the southern hemisphere.
I own a copy of the Rookwood Cemetery Transcriptions and the cd contains over 235,000 names. Each entry shows the complete transcription and grave location.

I hope I can assist someone with their research!

Hi Darlene,
Could you please do a look up for me?  My GG grandmother ELIZABETH GRAHAM died in 1862 and was buried in "the old scotch burial ground" which I believe was near the present Sydney Town Hall.  Her body was re-interred in Rookwood, but I am not sure when.  Do you need a date?  She would have been put in the Presbyterian section of Rookwood.
Many many thanks,
Julie-Ann

Hello Julie-Ann,
Sadly she is not on the CD. Perhaps her grave is unmarked?
Could she have been buried under another name? such as her maiden name?
The only two I found in the 1800's were:
Elizabeth Graham, 22 August 1895 - Age Unknown
Elizabeth Graham, 8 July 1896 - Age 51
Sorry I could not help Sad

Hi,
I have found 6 entries for William Chalmers with these death years: 1888 - 1889 -1896 - 1915 - 1926 and 1974. But nothing close to 1954.
Do you think any of them could be of interest to you? if so let me know.
Cheers

Hello,
I am sorry but I did not find anything in regards to George Edward Ronald Murray. Perhaps his grave was or over the years has become unmarked?
Again so sorry I could not help.
Cheers
