I have Matthew Davidson born 1802/03
Married to Mary Gregson (1824)
Matthew died 17.12.1855 at Spittal Berwick upon Tweed
I have his parents as George and Mary Skeen am I correct
Matthew and Mary had 4 children that I know of did they have more
Jane Stuart b 4.6.1828 m Andrew Farmer Turnbull
Mary b ?? died 24.3.1881
Matthew Henry b ?? died 5.9.1879
Hannah b  died 10.12.1881

Berwick-upon Tweed (classed as Durham in 1841 hence birthplaces 'not in county'
I should have put N 'not born in county' when I gave you the above information
N is for Not born in county, Y is for born in county. On 1841 census that's all the birthplace information you get.
So because Spittal was classed as Durham in 1841 census, if they were born in Northumberland or anywhere outside Durham county, that's the reason for the N's. In 1851 you'll see Spittal is in Northumberland!

I think I need your help again in finding Matthew ( b Stepiny 1847) parents
I have looked for young Matthews parent at www.familysearch.org and found George and Herriot nee Williams married at Stepiny
This confusing to me as I also found the marriage and this George was born 1820
Matthew sen and Mary Nee Gregson were married 1824 and have a son born 1833
So who does young Matthew who is with his grandparents in 1851 belong to

Where have you looked for Matthew? Did you find him in 1861?
His birth, parents' marriage etc were member-submitted on the IGI site so dates not to be relied on - but Matthew doesn't have to be little Matthew's father, George & Mary probably had another son George b. 1820. Will look for him in census
