John SIMPKIN - Little Wratting - Parents?

I have John Simpkin b. circa 1821 on the 1841 census in Little Wratting HO107, piece 1033, folio 4, page 3 with Amy Simpkin age 50 and George aged 12. 

I presume that John and George are brothers and Amy mum but I cannot find any evidence of this, John is married in the 1851 (he's Simkin) and Amy is dead unfortunately. 

I know John married Martha Martin (they are my GGG grandparents) but I've come to a bit of a halt pre 1841 census, is there anyone who can help please? Unfortunately I don't have the marriage cert...so many certificates, so little cash  Cry

Do you know what the fathers name was from the marriage cert, anyway have found a marriage on Boyds index.

I had a flash of inspiration and looked for George instead of John on the IGI, george was christened 22 feb 1829..but there are no parents listed!  Not seen that before, there's usually at least a father  Sad

Sue, Thank you, is that reasonably close to Little Wratting?  I don't know that part of the country at all.

At a guess they look about 5 - 6 miles apart. West Wickham just over the border into Cambridgeshire. Grin Grin
