Where have they gone???
« on: Friday 25 January 08 16:25 GMT (UK) »

I am looking for any info on my realtives who, quite frankly, disappear!

Christina Reid married George Winchester on 27 January 1837 in Kiltarlity.  He was from "Grohless" and she was from "Moybeg".

I have failed miserably in trying to find them in any census after their marriage.

Can anyone help shed any light on this?

Thanks

Could this be them, courtesy of Freecen?

Following on from Jean's 1841 entry, this looks to be them in 1851.  Not sure if Christina has died and George has remarried a Catherine or if it simply down to a transcription error:

George Winchester 44, Farm Grieve, b. Elgin Morayshire
Cathrine Winchester 42, b. Daviot, Inverness
Alexander Winchester 14, Kiltarlity, Inverness

Address: Balrobert, Inverness

Regards.

Looks like there might be a second marriage for George.  From IGI:

GEORGE WINCHESTER  Marriages: Spouse:     CATHERINE MCBEAN
Marriage: 27 NOV 1843  Inverness, Inverness, Scotland
