Hi

I'm searching for information on my Great Grandfather William Tuck who was born in Queens County abt 1878. (according to the 1911 Dublin census.

Any info on any Tucks in this area would be gratefully appreciated, he was living in Dublin with his first wife in 1911 so I am not sure when he would have left the area.
Thanks

William Tuck's marriage certificate should give his father's name and occupation which would be a start. In 1911 census married women are asked how many years married which should give you an indication of date.
Also, William was born after the start of civil registration of births (1864) but unless you have an idea of parents you can't be sure you are getting the correct certificate as there could be several children named William Tuck around the same age from the same area.
Once 1901 census is on the National Archoves site you might have a better idea of where he was from and his relatives.

Thanks aghadowey

I have no idea about his parents, it wasn't until I saw the 1911 census that I realised he wasn't born in Dublin, lets hope they get a move on with the 1901 census.
