Hi Pauline, I've been looking since i left the board yesterday and i've gone back with Ellen's family already. I'm trying to find him because i have one Benjamin in my tree born 1872 and 2 others born 1874 but i can't put him in until i know the area and parents. As my squire's are all willenhall people mainly.

so you don't even know the age of 'your' Benjamin and somehow we are supposed to conjure him up.
And you don't even have the consideration to tell us when benjamin(s) he would NOT be. Do some preliminary research..

Hello, Ruby:

My suggestion would be to order his marriage record. That would give you his father's name and occupation and it should give you an approximate birth year for Benjamin (unless it says "of full age" -- I hate seeing that on a certificate!).
It would also give you Benjamin's occupation, which might help you identify him in 1891 and 1901.
Finding him in the census would be key because that would give you a birthplace (although not always guaranteed to be accurate, it would be a good starting point).
Regards, Josephine

Hi, Ruby:
I didn't see your other thread; I will have to look for it.
Even without seeing your other thread, based on my own experience, I believe that getting the marriage record will save you a lot of time and fruitless searches and should enable you to "prove" you've got the right guy in the census.
Good luck! Josephine
