Completed - John SIMPSON bef 1809

If anyone has access to Boyd I'd be very grateful for a lookup for a marriage of John Simpson (son of the one I was enquiring after a couple of days ago) to an Elizabeth, possibly Lenton as one of their sons had this as a middle name, probably before 1809. They started baptising children in Croydon Cambs in Apr 1809, and John was born in 1785

Having explained by PM just now that I forgot to take the details of precisely what I was looking for re the Boyd's look-up, I'll now post some of the SIMPSON entries I found in the Croydon PR's...
Baptisms: 26th July 1747 Sarah SIMSON d. of James and Sarah (out of place in the register)  - that's what it said, anyway!
1st May 1748 Sarah d. of James and Mary
4th August 1751: Ann daughter of James and Mary
5th June 1808: Austin SIMPSON baseborn son of John NELSON and Lucy SIMPSON
Same day as above: Eliza SIMPSON d. of John and Elizabeth
27th October 1811: Sarah SIMPSON d. of  Lucy a bastard

Now the burials, all named SIMSON unless indicated:
30th January 1755:  Anne daughter of James and Mary
9th August 1771: Sarah d. of James and Mary
5th June 1775: Sarah wife of James       (not sure if that might be a mistake...)
28th December 1778: James
16th September 1783: Letty d. of John and Sarah
25th April 1784: Augustin
14th November 1790: Nancy d. of John and Sarah
8th February 1807: Elsey SIMPSON
17th February 1841: Elizabeth SIMPSON 54

Do hope there might be at least one piece of new info there...

Thanks very much Keith. Lots of goodies in there; have had to correct Nancy for a start as being buried in 1790 makes it a difficult for her to have married William Rayner in 1817!

Your hard work "up the hill" is much appreciated

I have just got some help also with the list of Croydon burials and would like to know where you fit into the Simpson family.  I'm guessing it may be through Hosea and Mary Spencer. I'm descended from Tamer born c 1811.

Only just spotted this post - it got hidden behind the other thread.

I don't think I'm actually a blood relative of the Simpsons! My 4xg grandmother was Mary Nash who married Edward Chandler in 1770. Her younger sister Sarah married John Simpson also in 1770.

So my connection to the Simpsons is pretty tenuous. I just got interested when disproving the online trees showing John Simpson of Cardington Beds (my 2nd cousin 6x removed) as being the one who married Sarah Nash. The Cardington Simpsons were connected by marriage to my Musick ancestors, and there's almost as much rubbish about them on the internet as there is on the Simpsons!

Just about to send you a report on my Nash descendancy
