hi.i am cathayb.john penfold and harriet james are in my family of penfolds,birches and taylors and hughes and orchards.when i find out how to post pictures i will put one on.henry penfold son of john and harriet married my ocean hughes.they had a daughter betsy married my joe taylor and they had a daughter harriet who married william birch who is our grandad.alot of other links too.love cathay birch

1900 Census USA Wellsville township Columbiana Ohio
Arrival Date 1895 from England
Samuel Scarrott b Feb 1857 aged 43 Turner Pottery
Jane Scarrott b Aug 1856 aged 43
Nellie Scarrott b 1892 aged 7
Edward Scarrott b Oct 1895 aged 5

Nellie scarrott must have returned to England found she came back to USa in 1911 from Bristol there is also a marriage for her to a De France in USA

Found death notice for Jane Scarrott
Jane b 3rd Aug 1856 Staffordshire
        D 11 Jan 1940 aged 83
widowed ( husband Samuel Scarrott)
Parents of Jane Scarrott - Edward Roberts & Jane Roberts

I know its not about what we ahve been talking about but it proves some of them did go to USa I always look there just encase I can;t find family here in UK

Found another family
Charles Scarrott b 1864 England died 1918 aged 54 Toronto York Ontario Canada  ( says mother was Ada)
All children listed below died in Toronto Canada

This quite sad looks like they had several males children and they all died
Albert William Scarrott  born 23 Sept 1910  died13 Oct 1910 17days old
Parents Charles + Ada Tarrant
Harrick Scarrott b 1913 died 27th June 1913 4mths
parents : Charles Scarrott + Ada Tarrant
parents Charles scarrott + Ada Tarrant
Albert Walter Scarrott b 19th Oct 1917 died 1month old
Male Scarrott died 1918
father Charles Scarrott

I have William Scarrott & Margaret Whitehouse in my tree & Genes Reunited.  They were my gggg grandparents.  I am Hazel Scarrott born 1950. father Oliver Scarrott.

William Scarrott & M. Whitehouse had eight children.

I have some news just had it confirmed that James Smith father to Selina Betsey Harriet Peggy  William Britannia
was married to a Eliza SCARRETT
thank you all for your help now i need to find her family so maybe I am looking for a different family with spelling of Scarrett not Scarrott ?
Although Peggy Smith did marry a joseph Orchard son of William Orchard & Caroline Scarrott
It is still possible could be a link with her mother's Scarrett and her husband;s family Scarrott it needs more investigating

glad you got that confirmed, are you sure of spelling as ive seen them on census as scarrott, scarot, scarett, Scaret , scarat, Scarratt,

Hi Matilda,

William Scarrott born about 1765.  His parents were Sam Scarrott born about 1750 & Jane Ball born about 1752. Sam Scarrotts parents were John Scarrott born  1730 & Sarah Sharp? born about 1732. I go back three more generations from them. The children for William & Margaret are:

John Scarrott b 1796 (married Sarah Dore, my ggggrandparents), Esau Scarrott born about 1795, Anne Scarrott born about 1797, Eliza Scarrott born about 1799, Eleanor born about 1800, Sophia born about 1801, Charles born about 1802 & William born about 1803.

I have many Scarrotts/Brinkleys/Dores/Brice in my tree.
