I was lost now I am found

(HORROCKS) How do I find a father's name, when not on pre1837 marriage details?

m. 30th October 1810 at All Saints, Hindley, Wigan,
Ann HORROCKS
to Edward PLIMMER
(have a copy of original marriage entry)

1841 census Ann aged 50

1851 census Ann aged 62

1861 census Ann aged 72

d. 15th October 1861 at Chapel Street, Bedford, Lancashire
Ann PLIMMER (nee HORROCKS), aged 73,
(wife of Edward PLIMMER, coal miner)

this is all I have to go on at this time, any help welcome, thanks.

This is where it gets harder!

Do you know where she was born from the census?

You may have to search parish records for her baptism etc.

Have you checked Wills?...

forgot to include that her birthplace was listed as Hindley, Lancashire.

No other HORROCKS known!

i just found this:

Ann HORROCKS
Christening: 13 SEP 1788 Leigh, Lancashire, England
Father: Wm HORROCKS Family
Mother: Martha

but how can you know if it is the right one? Shocked

It can be difficult but...

Have you tried looking for other "H" marriages around the
same time as Ann's at same church,they could possibly be
her siblings.
Did any of her children have less common names-
they could have been named after sibs.or g.parents
Any "H's" living near her in census who were born same place.
I know all of this can be very time-consuming,but it
has helped with my research.
