She would have been the female equivalent of a journeyman - i.e. some who has served an apprenticeship in a skilled trade but who works in that trade as an employee. He/she is not a master/mistress craftsman.

Several topics on Journeyman in the

RootsChat Reference Library ->Lexicon (click here)

A lot of the information will be 'same or similar' for journeywomen, but I've now amended the title from Journeyman  to Journeyman, -women and included this topic, so if anybody knows any special rules, conditions or anything else for Journeywomen, then please add it here.
