Dover isn't in Buckland! Buckland is a parish on the edge of Dover. St Mary the Virgin is the "parish church" of Dover - there are several others in different parts of the town (less now than there used to be). Depending on which part of Buckland they lived in, St Mary's would only be a mile or so away.
I will check the details for you - haven't had time yet.

I have checked the entry for St Mary's and there are no more details. This is the only event in that parish during the time period.
I also checked Buckland - there were no S(T)IM(P)SON baptisms there during the period.
