Hi,
I am looking for the mother of Abigail Lewis as I am trying to go back down the female line.
Information I have so far for Abigail Lewis is:
born 1643, Acton by Nantwich, Cheshire,
Baptised 16 Aug 1648, Nantwich, Cheshire,father Phillip Lewis.
Married Owen Lea 1 Dec 1664, Nantwich, Cheshire
They had 11 children all born Nantwich, Cheshire.
Any suggestions or help would be most appreciated.

I can certainly have a look for the marriage of Abigail's parent's if that is of any help to you? I see from your post that you have the exact date of birth of Abigail, or at least the year of her birth anyway. Was this information acquired from the actual parish register or the IGI?

Hi Jayson,
Thank you for the offer of looking for the marriage of Abigails parents. It would be a great help. The records I found were from the IGI and Cheshire database.
I have Anne Cheator (1615), Alis Scoot (1643), Sibil Taylor (1639) and Hannah Philbrick as possible mothers for Abigail as they all married a Phillip Lewis.
Going down the female line is a lot tougher than I thought it would be!!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I had a look through the Nantwich parish registers & I'm afraid there isn't a marriage for Phillip Lewis listed here. The parish registers for Acton don't start until 1653 so there didn't seem much point looking through them.

I had Baptised 16 Aug 1648, Nantwich, Cheshire,father Phillip Lewis.
Looks like it is the end of the line then..... for now... maybe I will find the marriage and get the mother that way.
