Samuel HEDGE was buried in Elstow on 19 March 1775, which bemuses me as he had three children baptised after this date. Either it's a different Samuel or else something odd is happening.
If someone could check the transcript entry to see if there is anything extra which might help me I'd be very grateful. Unbaptised son of Samuel & Mary would suffice!
There's also a marriage on 28 Jan 1762 at Elstow - Samuel HEDGE and Mary FISHER - I don't suppose it gives a parish of residence for Samuel (other than otp)? Nah? Didn't think it would!
Thanks in advance
David

David, The burial on 19 MAR 1775 was Samuel, son of Samuel & Mary Hedge.
There is a baptism on Dec 11 1768 of Sam son of Sam & Mary HODGE.
Another burial on 14 July 1773 Joseph, son of Sam & Mary Hedge, infant. I assume he was the one baptised 22 NOV 1772. So where's the burial of their previoius Joseph baptised 28 MAR 1766, son of Sam & Mary EDGE
Another burial on 16 Sept 1807 Mary EDGE, widow age 73. If she was the wife of Samuel then I did find his burial before then.
Interestingly there is a marriage of William Cherry to Mary Hedge on 11 OCT 1792, doesn't say she's a widow.
As to the 1742 marriage of Samuel Hedge to Mary Fisher - you are so right - there are no further details.
cheers John

Thanks John. Just back from Saillan. Boys say 'ello.
When I write "something odd is happening" I meant of course "something odd is 'appening". I forgot that Hedge might just be entered as Edge, which soundex doesn't doesn't pick up.
OK, I'll now check all the edges and odges to see who I've missed.
Shame about the marriage, as I 'aven't a clue where 'e was from (unless 'e's an edge or an odge)
I think the Mary Hedge/Cherry 1792 marriage was Mary bap 1770, daughter of Samuel and Mary
Thanks again for the look up and for the alternative spellings
David
PS The NBI has a Joseph Page buried 6 Apr 1766. There were no Pages that I can see in Elstow until 1778. I wouldn't be surprised if Page is another variation on Edge
