Sketchleys an Oz connection?
« on: Friday 01 February 08 08:50 GMT (UK) »

I didn't know where to post this but as I have an earlier post here about the Sketchleys, here it is.

I am looking for, amongst other names, the origins of Timothy Sketchley on an 1841 census in Nottingham for my gtx3 grandparents. He was 18 and a Sawyer.

Well, there's a lady looking for him on Genesreunited but has not replied to my prompt message. Then I found her again on rootsweb with an e-mail address in Australia, rather an old posting though in 2004 approx.

Her name is Doreen Towle or Saxton born 1947 in Nottingham. This all fits with my family tree. Does anyone know of her whereabouts please as she may be able to help with Timothy's mystery?

It's a long shot I know but who knows?

Ha! Ha! Within minutes of posting this thread I received an e-mail from Doreen Saxton and we have now exchanged family trees. Do you think this was a pyschic(?sp) experience? I think we should have a spell check on rootschat please. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes. I couldn't spell erie/eyrie meaning spooky yesterday. I know I could use a dictionary.....
