Milne Graden House
« on: Thursday 03 April 08 14:32 BST (UK) »

My g-grandfather's sister Christina Wilson was in service for many years with the Milne-Home family at Paxton House and Milne-Graden House.
Attached is a photo of her next to large gates.
Could anyone help in determining whether this is Milne Graden House

hi  Smiley

looks like a gatehouse to one of them

http://www.paxtonhouse.co.uk/

milne graden house is referred to in ordnance gazetteer(1882 - 1884) -
"a modern mansion , with extensive grounds , in coldstream parish ,
berwickshire"

Hi.

These gates look very like the south lodge gates at Milne Graden House.

The House is only 3 miles from where I live and we used to go picking raspberries there in the School holidays as my friend's father was the gardener.

It's in a beautiful quiet part of Berwickshire overlooking the River Tweed.

I'll try and pop out this weekend and get some photos.

Regards

I don't know if that is Milne Graden or not, but I'm researching those who worked for the Milne Homes at Paxton. I would be interested in making contact and if possible getting a copy of the picture. Do you have any more information about her service?
