Around 1820 a Samuel Fairey and James Fairey were living in St Neots. James occupied premises belonging to Samuel described as "adjoining The Fighting Cocks and The Bull's Head".
Could someone please check the St Neots census record to see if any of the Faireys were still there in 1841? I'd be interested in any family detail.

Thanks very much, Tazzie, for your speedy reply.
Was there any mention of those two pubs in 1841?

Hi Gill
St Neots was awash with Fairys in the 1700s - there are 56 Fairy burials between 1700 and 1799 but they then started fizzling out as there were then only another 8 up to 1834
Not a lotta people know that! Another snippet to add to your useless information file.
Bon weekend

Hi ....
Looking through the images the pubs are not named.

Bonjour, David
I've come across a clan of them in Eynesbury, and have to confess that I find the Eynesbury/St Neots geography a bit confusing. I think they were divided by the river (Hen Brook? Charlotte and family were living in Brookside, you said, Tazzie), but then later BMD registration for Eynesbury came under St Neots. Anyway, at present I don't need you to list all those burials, you'll be glad to hear, but may come back to you with individual names later, if that's alright.
A tout à l'heure

And Tazzie
Thanks for the Fairey bakers and other info. It's much appreciated.
Did they make fairy cakes, I wonder?

Apologies - I've just modified my original message, because I realised that I had written 1920 instead of 1820!
And I thought I'd checked it carefully. Good job I'm not a proof reader.
