Lost Parents
« on: Saturday 02 February 08 17:59 GMT (UK) »

Hi Everyone

The details of my parents marriage and thier deaths have been lost in the post as they were the originals I would like the reference numbers to obtain new ones. can anyone help??

Father         Ronald Fredrick Withers b 18/08/1920 Peterborough

Mother        Joan Sharp b Sept 1922 Peterborough

They were married in Peterborough (New England Church) during WW2 in September the day after my mothers birthday, I think it was 1943.

My father died in Peterborough about 1999 but not sure.
My mother died in Peterborough about 2002 again not sure

Many thanks in advance

Derek

I find this request very strange, if someone had the original certificates they would have known when they died, when they were born etc.,   It is not in the distant past.

Just who are we supposed to be helping find this information.

As we have serious problems regarding ID theft in this country and as I have attended Money Laundering and Identity Theft programmes  maybe I'm more suspicious than others.

If you look at Derek's previous posts, he is obviously researching his family ..... perhaps he wants his memory refreshing on many details ?

I have to stop and think when my parents died - early 90's, so also not that long ago but I'd have to check !

The info requested is already in the public domain, and the people are brown bread - how would that help with identity theft ?

 Huh Huh

that information can lead to the living relatives and give data that would enable them to get credit cards in your name, driving licences etc.,  it is too recent  not to be of use to these wicked people

Once they get the copy certificates and they are very clever at getting those .

I would have thought it not beyond the imagination of what this sort of information can lead to in the public domain.

We deal with this in the Courts and at the office where people have been devastated by loss of credit facilities and banking etc., due to these people highjacking the information they need from the internet.

As for not knowing  your parents death date in the 1990's and 2002, for me it simply beggars belief. as if I would ever forget such a date.  sorry you simply do not forget details like that.

although I cared for both my parents up to the time of death and I really mean cared.I regret I cannot remember the exact day and year.Obviously I am a comlete dork.
I have also looked carefully at the postings to check research names

I now feel I have hacked into the coffers of MI5.

Yonder peasant I think it's like when you work in a Nursing Home you tend to forget the majority of Elderly live well by themselves in the community.

When you work with identity fraud you forget there are people with bad memories who need a hand with the recent past.

YP - me too  Cheesy

That really is nonsense for DM to apply that logic to this request

anyone who wants to be 'wicked' can quite easily call up any BMD Index page for the timeframe they want and order a cert, and take it from there - absolutely no different to the scenario expounded by our resident expert  Tongue

and as for this comment of yours Dancing Master, I'd suggest you refrain from setting standards for everybody else.
