Elspet's parents, James and Mary, married 26 Oct 1877, Parish Church, Cruden, Aberdeenshire.
James Allan, engine driver, bach, 20. Port Errol, Cruden. Parents - James Allan, farmer and Isabella, m.s. McKay
and Mary Noble, fisherman's daughter, sp, 19. Port Errol, Cruden. Parents - Alexander Noble, fisherman and Margaret, m.s. Summers
As both sets of parents were alive at the marriage in 1877, you should be able to find them on the censuses.

Hi Tish
I think we ought to let you get all this digested now, and I know that you'd probably like to work through it yourself
If you would like further info from censuses, etc. , do give a shout.
With best regards

It was the two one below - with the red cross beside it
It is definitely Winterton - see the comparison's of the Ws on my message #18 above. Ricky also confirmed this to me later
