My cousin and I are trying to locate any paintings by her Grandad Joe (my Gt Gd Uncle), who painted in the early 1900s.
He used to paint ship wrecks and seascapes to make money when he was hard up. The last one I remember seeing was on the wall of my Gt Grandmother's house in Bradford when I was 12, it was of a stormy sea and a large ship being tossed around in the waves. I tried to attach a photo of the painter in action, but to no avail!!
I have reason to believe that when she died it would have gone to her eldest son Charles William Holdsworth and then maybe to his daughter Mary Rankin who died in her mid-forties in Bishop Stortford.
Any information that we can have about the whereabouts of any of Joe's paintings would be very welcome as we hate to think that they were just thrown away!!!!
Kind regards, Jill
