Hi to all talking about Wellards.  Most of the families you speak of are all sorted out in my 2nd cousins', once removed line.  My father was Richard John Pierce Wellard, and all our direct line has Pierce in the male names.  We are not sure where that names comes from at this stage either.  Jenny Wicks, nee Wellard, Australia

I am Henry Pearce Wellard's granddaughter. His third child, Harry Reaves Wellard, was my father. I have some information on the family, but not sure what you're looking for.

Do you know anything about Norah, my father's younger sister? My father married (date unknown) a Lily Mabel Field and then later (date unknown) divorced her before he married my mother, Gwynneth Mabelle North in 1952. However, his sister Kathleen Norah Field is recorded as the informant for his death in 1970! Seems to suggest she married Lily's brother. Brother and sister married to brother and sister? Roll Eyes

Hi,  I am Basil Wellard's eldest daughter.  I have been trying to find information on Harry as he and his family came to visit us when I was about 13.  If this is the same Harry I think he died a few years later.

Norah died at the grand old age of 100.  I went with my brother John to her 100th birthday party in  Bournemouth
with my father who was then suffering from Dementia.

It is not unknown for brother and sister marry another brother and sister.  as long as they are not blood relatives of course.

I visited Dad's family in Kent several times during my childhood. I remember meeting Aubrey & Pheney, my cousin George who drove steam trains at the Colliery, and I remember a Ruby. We used to go blackberrying on the slag heaps. I also remember a female cousin who was about my age, with a very strong family resemblance - I thought her name was Barbara. My father, Harry, died in 1970, which fits with your time-line. If it helps, my first name is Pauline.

Hi Pauline.

Did you have dark curly hair?  I remember one of the children who visited us was the image of my younger brother Rodney and about the same age.  He had dark curly hair as have most of the boys in my family.  They hate it.

We did visit Aubrey and Pheobe several times  I met George and his wife they had a son he was about ten then.

Leslie used to live with us.  He never married.  Eric and his wife Sylvia moved in with Grandad (Henry Pearce) and Leslie after Granny died. When Eric and Sylvia moved to Watford after Grandad died Leslie came to live with us.
