Sandhill - Pembury.
« on: Sunday 21 June 09 17:02 UTC (UK) »

The place of birth on a 1943 certificate is shown as 'Sandhill, Pembury U.D.'    I would like to know if Sandhill is a district of Pembury, or a maternity home/hospital, or both.    Any help would be appreciated.

On a quick search it's coming up as the Union Workhouse

Pembury workhouse became Pembury County Hospital (later part of Pembury hospital) in 1938.
