Im searching for my fiancees relations
Her great grandfather was called Hubert Povey born Birmingham 1887 and died in 1933
His wife was called Lil we have some information for her but want to make sure its the right one her proper name looks to have been Alice Oakes born 1881 and she died in 1959
She and her husband sometimes know as Rueben worked on the Pat Collins fair and Lil carried on after her husbands death, she worked on the coconut shy and also the candy floss stall where my finacees father sometimes helped out
Wondered whether anyone remembered them and could give me more info

Hi,
FreeBMD has this marriage Herbert Povey to either Lilian Jones or Alice E oakes...1910 in Birmingham....
there are Povey births with Jones as the mother's maiden name.....Arthur Povey born birmingham 1912..Kathleen M born West Brom',1914....do these names ring a bell with you??

Right I have found Lily living with her sister who is now called Pricilla Greenhouse on the 1901 census in Ladywood which would ring true as apparently she had to move out of her parents house, her father, mother brothers and sisters on the census appear and reappear which lends itself to the reason they travelled
I have a picture of Lily aged around 15 I wuld say working on Coopers International Penalty shoot out and it says Olympia London
I know she had links to Pat Collins fair etc.
