Hi Mike

I don't know for definite but from what I've read on other posts on this type of subject, I'm almost certain there is a time limit but I think it is less than 100 years.

I, personally would get in touch with the hospital  to find out the whereabouts of the records and if they still exist then take it from there. You may have to provide proof of your relationship.

happy hunting

Mike, I used to work at Selby hospital, and the bulk of patient records are kept at York. My understanding is that they should keep records for ten years, or up to the age of 21 for children. You may get some joy from medical records at York hospital
