Andrew is back after a absence on Roots chat

In my absence I have been working on my family tree and stuff including travelling the world (litterally) meeting other Rutherford cousins.

Please if you have conections to Rutherford's from the Bonchester Bridge area contact me and we can help each other out

Andrew

edited cos it comes up when googling

LuckyDog

My Rutherford's are from the Hobkirk, Lillesleaf, and tend to be joiners or Blacksmiths, there are connections with Cockpen, and Hawick as well as a few other areas the majority of the descendants of a James Rutherford (born circa 1777 at Hopkirk style) went off to Australia and from there to the US California to be exact, which is great for holidays

There was a couple of branches that stayed mine via a James Rutherford and his wife Elizabeth who had a son Thomas in 1833, again at Bonchester Bridge who married Agnes Burns from lilliesleaf

there is a George who I've lost who was a soldier then a Policeman in Hawick.

Obviously this is only a snapshot and if you want more let me know

Hello,

I have a Rutherford in my tree, not sure where she came from but I have a birth date of 30 May 1875 her name Margaret Jane, and her parents William Rutherford and Jane Cockburn Redpath.  I have Margaret married to a John Frater abt 1896 and  five children for them:

William Rutherford Frater
Alice Frater
Isabella Jane Frater
Johina GH Frater
Joan GMH Frater

Is Margaret one of your lot? and if so do you have any further information on her that I may add other then just a birth date.

Regards
