MORRIS - census 1891 & 1901
« on: Wednesday 06 February 08 12:33 GMT (UK) »

Hello!

Can anyone please help me.  I am trying to find on the Census's 1891 and 1901 the following family:

George Morris c 1847 Middlesex  Mary Ann c 1848  They married in 1868 (Clerkenwell)

Their children:    Sarah A c1869
                          Emily L c1871
                          George c1874
                          Lily A c1875
                          Arthur c1878
                          William c 1880
HENRY FREDERICK THOMAS Jun 1890 Hornsey, (line I'm trying to follow)

I can trace George and Mary Ann's (nee Lilly) respective families back but once they are married it's all hit and miss!  I have them in 1881, his occupation is Engine Fitter, on their marriage certificate Engineer!

Also, if possible could anyone suggest where I should look for George's parents marriage, as there are 3 of us looking to no avail!  Cry

Thomas Morris c 1806 Kingston upon Hull, Yorks = Elizabeth Hobden c 1809 Sussex (maiden name from youngest child Angelina's birth cert) 1841 census shows

Harriett c 1836
Alfred c 1838
William c1840

As far as I'm aware they were all born 'London/Middlesex' area

Look forward to hearing some news, Smiley thanks again

The Newfster ......  Now, why didn't I think of doing that! lol   Wink  Thank you, very much appreciated - One down One to go!

Glenda

blodwen ..... thank you but I don't think that is the correct family, very similar but there is no Henry Frederick Thomas 1890  The Henry mentioned would be too old at 18 Also some of the other children's names do not fit with the 1891 census.

Just to thank you both for the help with my request.  Found Henry F Morris on the Census 1901   RG13; Piece: 200; Folio: 20; Page: 31. Islington.

All the best
