Can anyone help me to find out what this means
Gregson Herbert E Feb 27,1908-may12,1967,Oregon TEC 3,1004 Signal Co,World War 11
I take it is on his death as this is entered in the cemetery at Oregon
I am searching this family and was pleased to pick this up I wanted to know what the TEC 3 1004 Signal Co was
Also on the same finding was Gregson Hiram A 1881-1970 & Saidee E,1880-1963 Gregson Thelma E Apr22,1908-1985
Seems like a family plot
But where do they all fit in .I know of Hiram Anthony Gregson Saidee must be his wife BUT.................Herbert and Thelma are both born 1908 February and April
Help please
Elizabeth

Hi there
I believe TEC-3 is a Technician Third Grade in military ranking. It appears that he was a veteran of WW2.
The 1910 census has...
Hiram A Gregson Home in 1910: Warner, Brown, South Dakota Marital Status: Married Race: White Gender: Male
Household Members: Hiram A Gregson age,28, head, b. Michigan, father b. Ireland, mother b.Illinois Saidee A Gregson age 29, wife, b. Wisconsin, parents both born Wisconsin George E Gregson age 22, brother, b. South Dakota Elwin H Gregson age 2, son, b. South Dakota
No sign of Thelma and I'm not quickly seeing the famly in 1920 yet but I'm guessing Elwin H. is Herbert E.
Best wishes Jean

Hi Elizabeth,
Here is a History and description of the activities/duties of the Signal Corp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Signal_Corps
I did not find a reference to the "1004" as company identifier but you might try googling further to see what comes up. There are a lot of google hits for the Signal Corp as they were the primary photographers of major events of the war.
