Hi I have baptisms in Ippollitts for children of a Singleton GODFREY and Elizabeth/Anna between 1671 and 1687 but no marriages showing on the Allen Index. Nothing showing on the IGI for a Singleton GODFREY except this entry
Shingleton GODFREY to Emma CHAPMAN 17 APR 1610 Woughton On The Green, Buckingham
The original register entry reads
Shingleton Godfrey de Potsgrave et Emma Chapman copulati 17 Apr 1610
Which brings me to Beds in case you were wondering!
I have also found these 2 burials
Godfrey, Margaret, wife of Singleton Godfrey, bur. 25 Feb 1609 Potsgrove Singleton GODFREY 3 Aug 1613 Potsgrove St Mary
But otherwise nothing - have searched Blars, A2A etc and looked on the IGI in villages around Potsgrove and on the route to Ippollitts for any children of a Singleton to no avail.
I am convinced the events must be linked as Singleton is a very uncommon first name but currently have a hole (in years and distance) between the 1613 burial and the 1671 baptism.
If anyone can see another mention of a Singleton GODFREY anywhere I would be very grateful

.....you seem to be assuming that Singleton buried 1613 is the same as Shingleton of Potsgrove married in 1610. What if the 1613 burial is the father of the 1610 Shingleton? I can't find a burial or a remarriage of Emma.
If they are the same families there has has to be one, possibly two, generations between 1610 and 1670

Hi
John Yes I have seen the link but thanks for posting it might be useful for someone else
David I'm not assuming the two Singletons are one and the same, the dates unfortunately mean could be either. The lack of remarriage or burial for Emma does suggest one might well be the son of the other. Thank you for checking for a burial for her.
Tazzie A photo whilst you're there would be lovely
