Topic: Stowe parish Baptism lookup please : Edward WHATSON 1720 (Read 263 times)

Can anyone help?
I need a look up from Stowe parish records for an Edward WHATSON?WATSON born 1719 Stowe, Bucks.
I found this reference to Stowe via a LondonRootsweb posting but am unable to contact the poster as he has changed email addresses. He said Edward was either from Stowe or Deptford Kent, where he settled & died.
I live in Bexleyheath, Kent so am unable to check Stowe parish records in person. But have traced all descendants from Deptford onwards just need to confirm birth location for Edward now & hopefully go back further.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hi ......
Manage to get a Fiche reader for an hour today so had a look for Edward.
No baptism in Stowe or Radclive no records for Dadford in Milton Keynes.
I did however find a Watson marriage at the right time to be his parents ...
Radcilve cum Chackmore
Wm Watson bach of this parish to Susannah Fennimore spin of Tingewick
10 Jan 1716
So I checked Tingewick but he is not there either.

Hello Tazzie,
Thanks for checking for me today, it's very kind of you.
Hmm.... so no baptism as could be found for Edward but a possible marriage William Watson & Susannah. How far is Radcilve cum Chackmore from Stowe approx? I'll have a quick peek on IGI to see if I can find any info on this couple.
Were there any other baptisms for this couple there?
For my records can I ask did you check years 1719- 1720, or 1719 or 1720?
So many questions but even a unfound record eliminates info from future inquiries.

Hi Jenny
I checked 1717-1723. Could not see baptisms for children of this couple.
Radclive from Stowe is around 3 miles so in the right place. Stowe is very close to Buckingham as well so they could have gone into town didn't think of that at the time.
Going back after half term so will check them then.(Half term here is next week mon-fri)

No luck looking for Edward I had a look in Maids Moreton and Buckingham two other places that are likely but no Watson /Whatson names showed up .

Thanks so much for checking for me I really appreciate your time & help. Even a no find means I can eliminate each parish checked from future enquiries. Maybe he was originally from Deptford, Kent there was aquery whether he was from Stowe or Deptford where he eventually settled and died.
