What was Pelham House in Poole in 1880?

There was a Hatton Smyth (who could have been a doctor) there?

This is probably too early for you, but Pelham House is mentioned in the 1861 census for Kinson (near Poole) with a Curate living there:

Hi cheryle.f here,  I was bought up in the Kinson area and Pelhams has always been part of the community life.
It is quite a grand house surrounded by a large area of  land that has always been used for social activities of the residents of Kinson.  The local library is right opposite on the same road and i will pop in for you and see if i can find any info that i can copy and send to you. At this moment in time in the grounds there is a play park and large paddling pool and also football pitches at the back,but these have been added in the last twenty five years that i know  of. Maybe i'll come up with something....   regards cheryle.f

P.S Pelhams is right in the heart of the village near the village green where the stocks are still in situ. but Kinson is in Bournemouth  and has been that way for along time just for future reference.
