Can anyone pls help with info on
Geoffrey Phillip Marlowe (or BOURNE)
Born around 1942 in Birmingham
Died: 22 Dec 1959 - Motorcycle acc
Mother - Florence Bourne

Florence later married Stan Marlowe (jun 1941) and Geoff took his name .

Birth date or info on death (newspaper article) wld be a great help !!!!

Hi Granataz

I think you need to check your dates for this one, I can't find a death registration for either surname from 1957-1961, nor a birth under Bourn(e) from 1936-43

If he was born 1942 surname Bourne and his mother married in 1941 she would have already have been a Marlowe when he was born

I have pm'd you the marriage registration

yes this is a funny one - 

I believe the Florence was pregnant as they were married jun q1941- then the marriage was disolved shortly after .
She then re-married (surname LYNCH) so Geoff could have even that surname ?

I'm not sure if the birth records would be ammended each surname or just use two entries - we do know that he died (aged around 18-19) in dec 1959 .. so, born anywhere around 1939 -1942 ?  under BOURNE , MARLOWE or LYNCH

Nothing in the Dec Qu 1959 or March Qu 1960 deaths for any of the surnames, maybe I should look in Jun Qu 1960 in case there was an inquest that delayed things, back shortly

Are you sure he died in Birmingham? Dec 1959?

Nearest I can find is a Geoffrey R. Lynch aged 17 ~ March Qu 1960 Blackpool 10b 512 and can't find a matching birth, so it might be worth contacting the registrar to check any death details like parents' names - (perhaps the informant was a parent), before buying the certificate.

the birth is a mystery though  ?  no - not sure if birmingham - just assumed ?

Thought the R might be mistyped for P as it's a typed GRO index - as I said, you could check it with the Blackpool registrar - nothing else anything like his name with either of the three surnames.  Maybe he was out for a trip to Blackpool on the motorbike - or maybe not him at all, only one way to find out...

Geoffrey died Dec 1959 - thorton-cleveleys (Lancashire? i believe)
still not sure about place of birth ... could be warwickshire or Lancs now ?
