Bell of Slamannan
« on: Sunday 10 February 08 11:14 GMT (UK) »

I am looking for details of the marriage of John Bell and Margaret Arthur c 1699 in Slamannan.

Other than they had a son John b 1709 in slamannan i have no further details of the family. Therefore any help would be appreciated.

Hi CB, had a quick look at the IGIs , couldn't find a marriage for John and Margaret. I did however find the following children of this couple,

MARGARET  ch 27th Oct 1700 Slam
ROBERT      ch 8th Mar  1713 Falkirk
ELIZABETH ch 9th Jul  1716 Slam
ELIZABETH ch 19th Mar 1721 Slam

All extracted entries.

Also some submitted entries

JAMES 20th Oct 1702 Slam
JANNET 19th Dec 1703 Slam
WILLIAM 21st Sept 1718 Slam

No John listed but if you are sure about him he would help to fill the big gap between 1703 and 1713

Perhaps Robert's birth in Falkirk will help, were they visiting family?

Thank you for this Val, like you say it does sound as though they may have originated or had relatives in Falkirk.
I can start chasing them again.
Regards,
Chris.
